Explore life at Buhay

Be a part of the team that is changing the game for Filipino SMEs.

Our mission is to give Filipino businesses the ability to grow into world class enterprises. Work with the team solving the biggest problems for small and medium businesses in the Philippines.

What we do

Build something real.

Philippine SMEs are the heart of the economy, and credit is what drives their growth. But access to credit is still a major bottleneck for most businesses in the Philippines. We are here to change that.

The Buhay team helps businesses navigate the complex world of finance and grow into world class enterprises. We are builders, advisors, and partners in growth to SMEs in the Philippines. We give our team members the skills, know-how, and ownership of outcomes - all from day one.

Are you ready to make an impact?

Culture

Our gritty DNA.

We are looking for a specific type of builder. Does this sound like you?

Output over optics
We measure hard results, not how nicely the work is packaged. A rough thing that moved the number beats a polished thing that did not.
Relentless initiative
See a problem, fix it. Nobody here waits for permission - jump in, get hands on, solve the problem, and learn from it.
Radical honesty
We attack problems, never people, and deliver hard truths with the emotional intelligence to make them land.
Zero politics
We are all here to build something great, not to play games. We are open and honest with each other, and we are not afraid to help each other grow honestly.
Ownership over tenure
You are rewarded for the impact you make and the lives you change, not the years you have spent in a role.

Rewards

More than a paycheck.

Four things a job owes you. Here is what we actually do about each.

  • Work that matters

You own a domain end to end, not a ticket queue - and what comes out of it is a real business that gets the opportunity to grow.

  • World-class skills

You get to learn credit, product, and distribution from people who have built at scale, and you get to immediately work on (and learn from) real problems that other companies wouldn't let you near until years later.

  • Financial wellbeing

An above-market base, plus variable pay that moves with the revenue you bring in. Nothing here is paid out for tenure - what you produced is the whole basis.

  • Work-life balance

We move fast, not around the clock. Take the leave and take the weekend - and get out of the office with the team often enough that you actually know them.

How the money works

  • Meaningfully above-market base: every role carries a guaranteed base salary that sits well above the Philippine market standard.
  • Uncapped upside: for revenue-facing roles, variable pay moves in lock-step with the firm’s collected revenue. There is no ceiling on what you earn when you hit your targets.

And you are covered with

  • Premium HMO
  • Aggressive Allowances
  • Generous Time Off

In conclusion

Is Buhay right for you?

We would rather you rule yourself out here than three weeks into a process. Read both columns honestly.

This is for you if

  • You would rather own an outcome than be handed a scope.
  • You want your pay to track what you actually produced.
  • You are comfortable being measured, and arguing from numbers.
  • You want the work to visibly move a real business forward.

It probably is not if

  • You want a fixed set of responsibilities and a stable queue of tickets.
  • You expect pay to move with tenure rather than results.
  • You would rather specialise narrowly than stretch across a domain.

The interview process

Four steps, about two weeks, and an answer either way.

  1. Apply

Send a CV and a short note on what you would want to work on here. No cover letter theatre - a paragraph that tells us how you think is worth more than a page that does not.

  2. Intro call

Thirty minutes with the person you would work for. What we are building, what the role actually involves day to day, and enough space for you to interrogate us back.

  3. Working session

One conversation built on a real problem from our work - a file to size, a system to design, a partner to win. We talk it through together instead of setting a take-home you do alone.

  4. Decision

You hear back within a week of the last session, either way, with the reasoning. References and an offer follow quickly if it is a yes.
